Religious association


Definition:

Specific type of organised social community, having a specified internal system, able to establish bodies of authority to fulfil internal functions and represent the association outside, entitled to specify rights and obligations of its members.



The basic criterion distinguishing religious association among other social organizations is the purpose which is to provide the believers with an opportunity to meet their religious needs.
