Green area less than 2 ha in size, which predominating function is recreation (e.g. there are alleys with benches, playgrounds etc.). This category also includes green areas near squares, public utility buildings, monuments etc., boulevards and promenades as well. Lawn can be formed by low greenery (lawns, flower beds) as well as trees and bushes.

The area of lawn includes water sports areas, open swimming areas, sports fields, playgrounds, etc., provided they are generally accessible.

SG-01 statistical questionnaire contains category 'generally accessible lawns of other units' which comprise generally accessible lawns, that are not within the remit of local government but within the responsibility of other units, e.g. The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
