Sick benefit


Definition:

Payment for periods of incapasity for work caused by an illness, accident or isolation due to an infectious disease.



It is payable from the 15 to the 34 day of incapasity for work (cumulated in the year). For the first 14 or 33 days of incapasity for work the insured person retains the right to remuneration financed from the employer's recources or, in certain circumstances, from the Guaranteed Employee Benefit Fund. The benefit is payable for the duration of incapasity for work, but not longer than for 182 days, and if the incapasity was caused by tuberculosis or occurs during pregnancy - no more than 270 days.
