Mechanically purified wastewater


Definition:

Wastewater purified with mechanical methods, using grates, filters, grit chambers, grease traps and sedimentation tanks. Mechanical treatment of wastewater is removing only non-soluble pollutants, i.e. solid bodies and easily settling suspensions as well as fats and oils.
