In case of the Labour Force Survey, Population and Housing Census 2002 and National Census of Population and Housing 2011, the definition applies to unemployed persons and economically active (the sum of the employed and the unemployed). In case of registered unemployment, the definition applies to unemployed persons registered in powiat labour offices - according to term "Registered unemployed persons" - and economically active who are the sum of registered unemployed persons and persons employed in public and private sector entities (the number of the employed does not include persons in active military service as well as employees of budgetary entities conducting activity within the scope of national defence and public safety).
