Permanent crops area


Definition:

The area of plantations of fruit trees and shrubs, nurseries of fruit trees and shrubs and ornamental trees, nurseries of forest trees and shrubs for commercial purposes, willow plantations and other ground permanent crops (e.g. dogwood, blackthorn, mulberry, Manchurian willow, hawthorn, sea buckthorn, rowan, Christmas trees grown on agricultural land), as well as permanent crops under cover (e.g. raspberry, grapevine, peach).



The area of permanent crops does not include hops or strawberry and wild strawberry plantations, which are included in the sown area. It also does not include short rotation plantations, which are included in the area of forests and woodland.
