Heat pump drive

Definition:

A parameter defining the method of supplying the energy necessary for its operation, most often electric or gas, which enables the compressor to operate in a thermodynamic cycle.

Depending on the form of driving energy, heat pumps are divided into those driven mechanically using electricity (compression) and those driven thermally (absorption or sorption).
