Production in industry by kind of activity unit (KAU)

Definition:

The index measures changes in the volume of industrial production at constant prices, on a monthly basis in relation to the base period and it concerns economic entities classified according to NACE Rev.2 into sections: B (Mining and quarrying), C (Manufacturing), D (Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply), excluding group D353 (Steam and air conditioning supply).

Production in industry includes revenues from the sale of own products (goods and services) and the value of manufactured products not categorised as sale, treated equally as sale. This is the value expressed in current basic prices, i.e. excluding value added tax (VAT), excise tax, but including the value of subsidies received, i.e. subsidies for products (goods and services). The production value is deflated by the monthly producer price index at the 3-digit level of PKD2007.
