Choropleth map

Definition:

The choropleth method is used to quantify on the map the average intensity of a given phenomenon within the reference space units. The principle of this method is to adopt a uniform distribution of the phenomenon presented throughout the entire area of the reference space unit. The main function of the choropleth map is to show the spatial distribution of a given phenomenon's intensity, and not specific values of this phenomenon in individual reference space units.
