Weighting system used for compilation of price indices of consumer goods and services


Definition:

The system of weights developed as percentage shares mainly on the basis of the HBS data from the year preceding the surveyed year, on expenditure of households (excluding own consumption and life insurance) on purchasing consumer goods and services was made according to the European Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (ECOICOP, until 2013 — COICOP/HICP). Additionally, categories: "consumer goods" (of which non-foodstuffs) and "consumer services" are also presented.
