Weight load factor

Definition:

Total revenue tonne-kilometres performed by air expressed as a percentage of available tonne-kilometres.

The total revenue tonne-kilometres are calculated in a similar way to freight/mail tonne-kilometres, but one should take into account not only the weight of freight and mail, but also the weight of passengers and their luggage. When calculating the mass of passengers and their luggage, the air carrier may use its own conversion factor or assume that one passenger and their luggage weigh 100 kg.

The unit of measure for total revenue tonne-kilometres (performed, offered) is tonne-kilometer.
