Telecommunications network


Definition:

Transmission systems and switching or routing equipment and other resources, including inactive network elements that enable the transmission, reception or transmission of signals by wire, radio, optical or other electromagnetic means, regardless of their type. They are used mainly for providing publicly available telecommunications services.



Fixed public telecommunications network - public telecommunications network where the network termination has a fixed location;
Mobile public telecommunications network - public telecommunications network where the network termination does not have a fixed location.
