a) with the same theme and characters, when every next episode is a continuation of the previous (eg TV soap opera);

b) all episodes are connected by the place of action (eg, city) and by the main characters, but each episode presents a different situation;

c) cinema movies or TV films (or TV versions of staple cinema films) form an integrated whole.
