Net international migration


Definition:

Difference in the number of arrivals in a given period to the administrative unit /country from abroad and the number of people who left the unit/ the country abroad in this period. (immigration-emigration).



In the current migration statistics for permanent residence based on administrative data sources, the number of arrivals from abroad is the number of inhabitants of other countries who registered for permanent residence in Poland; number of people who went abroad means the number of people who deregistered from permanent residence in Poland in connection with moving abroad for permanent stay.
Total net migration for the whole country is equal to the net international migration.
