Storage space of warehouse

Definition:

Part of the floor space of warehouse building (so called secured warehouse), roofed premise (so called shelter), storage site and other premise suitable for storage (e.g. rented or leased from production company, institution of public use, natural person, etc.) which is used to store goods in longer or shorter periods of time.

Degree of use of the area for storage purposes depends, among others, on the adopted manner of storage and the level of mechanization of storing and warehousing activities e.g. stake up the goods in piles, heaps or on pallet requires more space than for storage structures system (especially for the use of blocked racks). Full mechanization, and even more automation of storing and warehousing activities, enhances the reasonable use of store surface of warehouse.
