Ordinal scale


Definition:

Type of measurement scale. A variable is on an ordinal scale if it takes values for which an order is established, but the difference or the quotient of two values can not be determined. Examples of features measured on the ordinal scale are: military rankings, boxing categories, Beaufort wind speed scale, education.
