Periodic fluctuations (seasonal)


Definition:

Regular fluctuations of a specific cycle (run-up period); part of the variability included in the time series, which is related to the seasonality of phenomena. Seasonal fluctuations can be constant or variable due to their period and amplitude, e.g. fluctuations in electricity demand during the day, monthly fluctuations in the number of the unemployed.
