Sejm


Definition:

The highest legislative authority in Poland, which is the first chamber of the Polish parliament. Consists of 460 deputies, elected in universal, equal, direct and proportional suffrage in a secret ballot.



The term of the Sejm lasts four years, starting from the day the newly elected Sejm convenes to the day preceding the convening of the next Sejm.
