Outward / inward processing


Definition:
Processing, treatment or production of goods from raw materials and materials provided by a foreign contractor. The processed, treated or produced commodity remains the property of the sending party and is subject to return. Such transactions are called inward processing for the country in which the processing takes place and outward processing for the country commissioning the commodity for processing abroad.
