Election Committee


Definition:

A team of people working for a candidate for public authorities who, on behalf of political parties and voters performs election tasks, and in particular, shall propose candidates for deputies or candidates for senators and conducts, on an exclusive basis, electoral campaigns on their behalf.



In elections to the Sejm and Senate, as well as in elections to the European Parliament in the Republic of Poland, electoral committees may be established by political parties and coalitions of political parties, as well as by voters.

In the presidential elections in the Republic of Poland, electoral committees may only be established by voters.

In elections to the governing bodies of local government units and in elections for the position of head of gmina, electoral committees may be established by political parties and coalitions of political parties, associations and social organisations, as well as by voters.
