Games console

Definition:

An electronic device designed for gaming.

The console is usually equipped with a data (games) input device e.g. CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive and a game controller (joystick, gamepad); does not have a monitor because TV or computer monitor acts as it. The current generation of consoles becomes more similar to a computer(the are made up of the same components), but specialized in one task only - games. The console may have a built-in modem or network card and enable access to the Internet.
