Boiler house

Definition:

A boiler-house is a building or a room with boilers and devices used for production of thermal energy for heating or both heating and supplying warm water.

Boiler houses are split into off-site boiler houses which serve more than one building (and are located usually in detached buildings, from which the heating medium - predominantly water or water-vapour - is sent to the building heated by the heating network) and local boiler houses which serve in principle only one building, where they usually are built into.
