The referendum is run at the initiative of the decision-making organ of a given local self-government unit, or at the suggestion of gmina inhabitants. The subject of gmina referendum can also constitute self-imposition of taxes on inhabitants with the aim of aiding social goals falling within the scope of tasks and competences of gmina organs.
