Area of other permanent crops
Definition:
The area of other permanent crops includes the area of nurseries for ornamental trees and bushes, nurseries for forest trees and bushes intended for commercial purposes, willow plantations (for wickerwork), as well as other ground-based permanent crops (e.g. dogwood, blackthorn, mulberry, Manchurian willow, hawthorn, sea buckthorn, rowan, Christmas tree plantations cultivated on agricultural land), and plantations of trees and bushes from which harvests are made, e.g. branches.
This category should also include trees and bushes grown in field, intended for planting in gardens, parks, along roads, etc.
The group also covers permanent crops grown under cover (e.g. raspberry, grapevine, peach), cultivated in heated or unheated greenhouses and plastic tunnels (with a minimum height of 1.5 metres at the apex), as well as in cold frames ("miniature greenhouses" – boxes covered with glass panes).
This group shall also include the cultivation of planting and propagation material of fruit and ornamental trees and bushes, if conducted under cover at the initial stage of production prior to planting in the ground, e.g. the production of rootstocks, young seedlings (e.g. for hedges, roses), rhizomes, stolons, etc.".
