Town


Definition:

A settlement having mostly concentrated housing and non-agricultural functions, possessing town rights or the status of a town pursuant to provisions of separate laws.

A group of all towns selected on the basis of the identifiers of TERYT register (TERC system) constitute together: urban gminas (the symbol of unit type = 1) and towns in urban-rural (the symbol of unit type = 4).

In order to produce data in the quarters of Capital City Warszawa and representations of the cities: Kraków, Łódź, Poznań and Wrocław the identifiers with symbol type = 8 (quarter) or 9 (representation) should be used respectively. Value of variable for the entire city (with the symbol of unit type = 1) shall be equal to the sum of data (for the variable) from the quarters or representations.
