Laying-hens for the production of eggs for consumption


Definition:
Domestic female fowl of the Gallus gallus species aged more than 2 weeks maintained on large farms and under extensive domestic breeding (small scale breeding) in order to obtain eggs for consumption. Also includes young hens that have not yet laid eggs as well as hens to be slaughtered.
