Has been defined as derivative, based on the: legal marital status, relationships character the given person lives in, i.e. based on information in the relations with the head/reference person of the household and mutual connection between the surveyed persons.

The following categories of de facto marital status has been defined:

— single,

— married — in the light of secular or canon law and in actual status of marriage,

— cohabitant (partner) (living in the same household — irrespective of their legal marital status),

— widowed,

— divorced,

— separated — it is related to persons:

— remaining in a legal separation and not creating relationships (cohabitations) with other persons,

— legally married but not creating a marriage and not creating relationships (cohabitations) with other persons.
