Private household


Definition:

Group of people living together in a housing unit and jointly maintaining themselves. Persons living alone and independently maintaining themselves constitute a one-person households.



Households are isolated from the population living in dwellings (without collective living quarters). Among households there are one-person households and multi-person households (2 or more people), as well as family and non-family.
