Indices of changes in the procurement prices of agricultural products reflect changes in procurement prices in the given half-year in relation to the previous half-year of the following agricultural products: grain of wheat and rye, animals for slaughter - cattle, pigs, poultry, and cow milk. The basis for calculating the indices are monthly data on the quantity and value of the above mentioned purchased agricultural products obtained from the monthly “Report on procurement of major agricultural products” (R-10). The report covers legal persons and organizational units without legal personality carrying out procurement of agricultural products directly from agricultural producers.

Average procurement prices of individual products for half-year are calculated on the basis of monthly data on the quantity and value of the purchase of the above mentioned agricultural products in the following way:

PN = sum of WN / sum of qn

Where:

PN – average price of the given product in half-year N under survey;

Wn - value of the given product purchased in month n;

qn - quantity of the given product purchased in month n;

The next step is to calculate indices of changes in prices (INp) for individual agricultural products for a given half-year in relation to the previous half -year as the ratio of the average procurement price for a given half-year to the average procurement price in the previous half-year.

Index of changes in procurement prices of basic agricultural products is calculated as weighted average of price indices of individual agricultural products using as a weight scheme – the structure of purchased products in the previous half-year.

IN = sum of W(N-1)p x INp / sum of W(N-1)p

where:

IN – index of changes in prices of basic agricultural products for half-year in relation to the previous half-year;

W(N-1)p – value of the product purchased in the half-year preceding the half-year under a survey:

INp – index of changes in prices for individual agricultural products for half-year in relation

to the previous half-year;

Index of changes in prices of basic agricultural products is used to valorize rent-charge for rented agricultural fixed properties from the State Treasury.
