In 2013, the Statistical Office in Katowice implemented for the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) the project entitled Support the development of the Georgian System of Statistics in the field of regional accounts. Transfer of knowledge required to carry out calculations of selected macroeconomic categories by territorial breakdown.

Dedicated training courses to the staff of Georgian official statistics services were performed, during which statisticians were provided with information on practical aspects of calculations of regional accounts, as well as with relevant issues concerning conducting statistical surveys. Moreover, the methodology manual for regional accounts has been updated. Georgian statisticians have received instructions, proposals and recommendations on regional accounts calculations, based on Polish experience and consistent with regulations applied in Member States of the European Union.
