Lux Clara in Contractis Publicis Award for Statistics Poland in the category of Employer promoting sustainable public procurement

On September 12, 2019, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Public Procurement Office, the LUX CLARA IN CONTRACTIS PUBLICIS Awards were granted. The awards were granted in three categories: Employer, Contractor and People distinguished for the public procurement system. The winners were selected by a jury consisting of eminent experts on public procurement.

Statistics Poland won the 3rd place at the International Map Exhibition in Tokyo

From 15 to 20 July this year in Tokyo, the International Cartographic Conference was held along with an exhibition where 30 countries presented 385 products issued from 2017. During the exhibition, a competition for the best publications/products took place. The competition jury, appointed by the authorities of the International Cartographic Association, awarded the Statistics Poland with the third prize in the educational category of cartographic products for the textbook entitled “Statistical maps. Data elaboration and presentation” (developed and released in 2017).

Statistics Poland won Big Data Hackathon

We are pleased to inform you that the team of Statistics Poland composed of: Paulina Małek, Michał Bis (both representing the Statistical Office in Szczecin) and Jacek Maślankowski (Statistical Office in Gdańsk) proved to be the best and won the Big Data Hackathon. The event organised by the European Commission (Eurostat) was aimed at selecting the best application projects using Big Data.

Another awesome result of Polish statistics in an Open Data Inventory Ranking!

Polish official statistics ranked fourth in the world in 2018 and among the countries of Eastern Europe (Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia) on the 1st place in the Open Data Inventory ranking (ODIN), which assesses the coverage and openness of data on the websites of national statistical offices.
