Biotechnology and nanotechnology in Poland in 2024

In 2024, 246 firms conducted biotechnology activities, which constitutes an increase by 26.2% in comparison with the previous year. Biotechnology intramural expenditures incurred by firms amounted to PLN 3 290.2 million and increased by 38.1% on an annual basis. 6 408 persons were employed in biotechnology in firms. Biotechnology research and experimental development was conducted by 275 entities, that is 15.1% more in comparison with the previous year. Biotechnology intramural R&D expenditures amounted to PLN 1 842.8 million and increased by 7.1% annually. 8 424 persons were involved in biotechnology research and experimental development.
