In 2024, the number of practicing physicians was 141,193, dentists – 36,965, nurses – 219,881, midwives – 28,828 and physiotherapists – 62,087.
In 2024, the number of doctors living in Poland with a license to practice amounted to 166.5 thousand (in 2023 – 163.2 thousand).
Among doctors licensed to practice in 2024, the dominant group – 20.4% – were persons aged 30-39 (in the previous year persons aged 30-39 accounted for 19.8%). In 2023, the predominance of persons aged 30-39 was lower among male doctors than among female doctors.
