Formal education


Definition:

Education in the school system - at the level of primary, lower secondary, basic vocational schools, general and vocational secondary schools, post-secondary schools as well as higher and doctoral studies. The training is conducted by public or non-public school and educational institutions which are authorised to teach. From 1 September 2017 gimnazja (lower secondary schools) will be gradually phased out. Only students enrolled in the last two years of gimnazjum will pursue their education in this type of school till graduation.



Formal education is conducted in accordance with approved curriculum. The training is based on the standards adopted in the system of education and higher education approved by the applicable legal regulations. It leads to qualification validated by the certificate or diploma.
