Employment, wages and salaries in national economy in 1st quarter 2015

The number of the employed as of the state on 31 March 2015, amounted to 8628.9 thousand persons and was by 1.1% higher than last year (the last year a drop by 0.7% was observed). The share of the employed in the private sector amounted to 65.1% (the last year it was 64.7%).

Average employment in the first quarter of 2015 amounted to 8252.8 thousand persons and was by 0.8% higher than at the same time last year (the last year a drop by 0.3% was observed). A relatively high increase in average employment was observed in sections: information and communication (by 3.4%), manufacturing (by 2.9%), trade; repair of motor vehicles (by 2.2%), transportation and storage (by 2.0%), and administrative and support service activities (by 1.8%), while a slight growth was observed in sections: public administration and defence; compulsory social security (by 0.3%) due to employment in the frame of intervention, water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (by 0.6%), professional, scientific and technical activities (by 0.9%), and agriculture, forestry and fishing and education (by 1.1% in each. A drop in employment was observed in other sections; the highest decrease was observed in: construction (by 6.1%), mining and quarrying (by 5.9%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 5.3%), and accommodation and catering (by 4.9%).
