In February 2024, sold production of industry was by 3.3% higher than in February 2023, when a decrease was recorded by 1.6% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, whereas in comparison with January 2024, it increased by 0.7%. In the period January-February of 2024, sold production of industry was by 2.8% higher than in the corresponding period of 2023.

According to preliminary data, the prices of sold production of industry in February 2024 increased compared to January 2024 by – 0.1%, however decreased compared to the corresponding month of the previous year – by 10.1%.

In March 2024, there was an improvement in both current and future consumer sentiment moods compared to the previous month. The current consumer confidence indicator, syn-thetically describing the current trends in individual consumption, was -12.3 which was by 0.3 p.p. higher in relation to last month.

In February 2024, the average paid employment in the enterprise sector compared with February 2023 was lower by 0.2% and amounted to 6 510.9 thousand full-time equivalent employees. The average monthly wage and salary in the enterprise sector in February 2024 compared with February 2023 increased nominally by 12.9% and amounted to PLN 7 978.99 gross.

Consumer prices in February 2024, compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, increased by 2,8% (with an increase of prices of services – by 7,0% and goods – by 1,4%). As related to the previous month consumer prices incresed by 0,3% (of which services – by 1,0% and goods – by 0,1%).

In 2023, the financial results of cultural institutions were higher in comparison to the previous year. Total revenues increased by 16.2%, total costs by 15.7% and investment outlays by 13.5%.

On the last day of June 2023, there were 2 332.5 thousand persons performing work under contracts of mandate and related contracts in Poland. Of these, 1 008.8 thousand were simultaneously performing work qualifying them as employed persons in the national economy.
