In 2022, there were 2 349.8 thousand non-financial enterprises in Poland, in which 2 283.4 thousand microenterprises. With regard to the type of business activity conducted, trade enterprises remained the largest group in population of non-financial enterprises (20.0% of total); and in terms of location – entities based in the Mazowieckie Voivodship (17.7% of total).

Innovation activities of enterprises in Poland in the years 2020-2022

In the years 2020–2022, 36.1% of industrial enterprises and 34.2% of service enterprises performed innovation activities. Expenditures on innovation activities incurred in 2022 in industrial enterprises amounted to PLN 26011.7 million, and in service enterprises - PLN 29689.1 million.

Financial results of non-financial enterprises for 2022 (balance sheet)

The value of assets (total equity and liabilities) of surveyed entities as of 31 December 2022 was 4,387.2 bn PLN (by 13.1% more comparing to the end of 2021), of which 52.4% were fixed assets and 47.5% were current assets. Total revenues and to-tal costs were higher than in 2021. The net financial result amounted to 290.2 bn PLN (an increase of 16.0% compared to 2021).
